Linko is a private, local-first bookmark manager and link vault designed to help you save web URLs, notes, and code snippets quickly across your Android device. All saved links, custom folders, titles, tags, and local cover media remain strictly on your device. We do not track, collect, monetize, or transmit your saved web history or private content to external servers.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies solely to your use of the Linko mobile application for Android. It details how data and device permissions are handled during application use.

3. Local-First Architecture & Data Storage

Linko is built on on-device data sovereignty principles:

• On-Device SQLite / Room Database: All saved URLs, categorized folders, custom text entries, PIN preferences, and cover image paths reside exclusively inside an encrypted local SQLite database on your device.
• No Analytics or Web Tracking: We do not track the URLs you bookmark, monitor browsing patterns, or build profile dossiers based on your saved links.
• Biometric Security: Folders protected with PIN or Biometrics (fingerprint/face) rely on Android's hardware-backed BiometricPrompt framework. Your biometric authentication data is processed solely by the operating system kernel and is never accessible to the app or saved.

4. Device Permissions We Request & Why

To provide fast bookmark saving and custom folder covers, Linko requests minimal system permissions:

• Biometric Hardware Access (android.permission.USE_BIOMETRIC):
  Purpose: Enables you to lock and unlock private category folders using fingerprint or face verification.
  Privacy Guarantee: Biometric credentials remain securely inside Android's Secure Enclave/TEE and are never captured or read by the app.
• Storage & Media Access:
  Purpose: Allows you to select custom images from your device photo gallery to assign as folder or item cover covers.
  Privacy Guarantee: Access is limited exclusively to files you pick manually via Android's Photo Picker/System file browser.

5. System Integrations (Quick Save)

Linko provides instant link saving through standard Android OS integration points:

• Process Text Integration (PROCESS_TEXT): Allows saving highlighted URLs directly from web browsers and text editors via the system text selection toolbar.
• System Share Sheet (SEND): Receives shared URLs and text snippets from other installed applications.
• Quick Settings Tile: Provides a system status bar tile for quick link insertion.

All processing in these flows is completed 100% locally on your device without sending any data over the internet.

6. Data Retention & Permanent Deletion

• In-App Deletion: You can delete any saved bookmark, folder, or cover image reference at any time.
• Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling Linko or clearing application data via Android Settings instantly and permanently deletes all stored bookmarks, folders, and local data.

7. Children's Privacy

Linko does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because all data is stored offline on the device, no user profiles or identifiable accounts exist on external servers.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as new updates are published. Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated timestamp.
